WEST PALM BEACH — National Enquirer scion Paul Pope has won back his right to possess guns as part of his long-running battle with his mother, well-known philanthropist Lois Pope.
Lois Pope, 82, agreed to drop the restriction that is part of a restraining order she got against her 47-year-old son two years ago, according to an order signed Thursday by Palm Beach County Judge Reginald Corlew.
“I’m thrilled the court realized that under the Second Amendment, I have a constitutional right to bear arms to protect myself and my family just like any other American citizen,” Paul Pope, of Delray Beach, said in a press release issued by his attorney Mike Pike.
